[放生实修] 学诚法师高质量的休息(中英)

高质量的休息High-quality Rest
早上零点刚过,收到了学诚大和尚指示工作的短信息,想是和尚还没有休息,仍在思考事情。凌晨3∶00,丈室的灯又亮起来了,后来经询问,得知和尚3∶00起来后,就阅读佛经,一直到4∶30上早课。随众上早课到5∶30后,略做准备,于5∶50前往中国佛教协会。满打满算,和尚只休息了不到三个小时。
It was just past midnight. I received a short message from Ven. Master Xuecheng. I supposed he was still working. The light was turned on again in his room at 3 o'clock. Later I learned that the Master begun reading sutras when he got up at 3, and until 4:30 he would go to attend the morning chanting, which ended at 5:30. He then got prepared for a while and headed toward the Buddhist Association of China. In total, the Master only slept for no more than 3 hours.
和尚不是偶尔这样作息,而是经常性的。有的时候,甚至是1∶00多就起来用功。这和我们是不同的。就我们自己的状态来说,早起已经很不容易了,晚上熬得晚一些,第二天就会打不起精神,中午最好还要睡一觉。和尚每次休息的质量很高,可以在短时间内使体能得到较好的恢复。这除了和“禅定”的功夫有关外,和尚也有一些特别的方法帮助睡眠,比如把握睡前最后一念,用意念定时起床。
The Master doesn't live and rest like this occassionally, but regularly. Sometimes, he gets up even at 1 a.m. He is different from us. For us, it isn’t that easy to get up early, and we tend to be spiritless if we stay up late and it's better for us to take a nap at noon. But the Master always enjoys a high-quality sleep and feels refreshed after a short period of rest. Besides meditation, the Master also has other special methods to improve his sleep, such as taking hold of the last thought before sleep andgetting up on time with the help of his intention.
以前看到有相关资料统计说,80%的香港市民都有失眠的症状,其主要原因之一,就是“忧郁”。头脑里有着想不完的事情,躺在床上还在琢磨,没法放松下来,自然休息不好。和尚的事情比一般人多得多了,却从来都是拿得起放得下,不会在该休息的时候,还辗转反侧,想着要怎样处理。一次法会上,有位学员请教和尚:“如果您产生了烦恼,要怎么去对治呢?”和尚笑笑说:“不去想它。”
According to a statistics I saw before, 80% of Hong kong people suffer from insomnia, and depression is one of the main reasons. They have endless things to worry about and cannot relax themselves even when they are supposed to sleep on bed. In comparison, the Master has much more things to deal with than others, but he is at ease and never thinks about how to solve a problem when it is time for rest. At a Dharma assembly, a participant asked the Master, "What will you do when you have affliciton? The Master smiled and answered, “Stop thinking about it.”

高质量的休息,源自禅定功夫。
把握睡前最后一念,用意念定时起床。
产生烦恼的对治方法:不去想它。
